Electoral system for the president

92 (1): The President shall be the Head of State. He shall embody the unity of the nation and shall represent the State in its international relations. 

93 (1): The President shall be elected directly by the voters for a period of five years by a procedure established by law.

93 (3): To be elected, a candidate shall require more than one-half of the valid ballots, provided that more than half of all eligible voters have cast their ballots in the election.

Within three months after the appointment thereof, the Central Election Commission shall adopt and shall promulgate in the State Gazette: 1. the methodologies for determination of the voting results upon conduct of theelections of President and Vice President of the Republic and of municipal councillors and mayors in 2011;
