Article 48:
(1) Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, by the grace of God Queen of theUnited Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her Other Realmsand Possessions, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith, having at therequest of the people of Tuvalu graciously consented, is the Sovereign of Tuvaluand, in accordance with this Constitution, the Head of State.
