Article 24
Single electoral constituency
For the purpose of the election of the President of the Republic, the territory of the Republic of Angola constitutes a single electoral constituency.
Article 26
Method of election
The President of the Republic is elected by universal, equal, direct, secret, and periodic exercised by citizens voters, on a single name list submitted in accordance with the terms of this law.
Article 27
Two round majority system
27.1 The President of the Republic is elected in accordance with the two-round, majority vote system.
27.2 A candidate who obtains more than half of the votes validly cast (excluding blank votes) is considered to have been elected in the first electoral round.
27.3 If no candidate achieves an absolute majority of the votes as provided in the preceding paragraph, a second round of voting shall be held in which only the two candidates who obtained the largest number of votes during the first electoral round and who have not withdrawn from the race, in accordance with the terms of this law.
27.4 The candidate who obtains a simple majority of the votes validly cast shall be considered to have been elected.
