Republic of Lebanon Law No. 25, Parliamentary Elections Law
Article 1
The parliament shall be made up of 128 deputies elected by a majority system for a mandate of four years. The voting shall be made universal, by secret ballots and on one level.
With the 2008 Electoral Law, 128 parliamentary seats are allocated among the 26 electoral districts.
All parliamentary seats are divided equally between Christians and Muslims. The seats are further sub-divided into eleven confessional branches (four within Islam and seven within Christianity).
