Legislative size (directly elected)

Among the 225 parliamentary seats for the Legislative Yuan, 168 were elected in 4 SMCs and 21 MMCs. 41 seats were distributed in proportion to the national total of votes, received by the party candidate in the SMCs and MMCs. 8 seats for the aborigine minorities were elected in 2 nation-wide MMCs and 8 further seats for the overseas Chinese were elected in one MMC. Seat allocation follows the Hare-Niemeyer formula.
