Article 9

For the representation per district to the National Assembly, the following division shall apply:

1. Paramaribo: 17 seats
2. District of Wanica: 7 seats
3. District of Nickerie: 5 seats
4. District of Commewijne: 4 seats
5. District of Sipaliwini: 4 seats
6. District of Brokopondo: 3 seats
7. District of Marowijne: 3 seats
8. District of Para: 3 seats
9. District of Saramacca: 3 seats
10. District of Coronie: 2 seats

Article 59

59.1 The National Assembly consists of 51 members chosen by district on the basis of general, free and secret elections by virtue of the system of proportionate representation on the highest number of average and preferential votes.
