s 35(1): The number of open electorates shall be as determined by the Boundaries Commission but in no case shall be less than 110 or more than 120.
NOTE: There are currently 111 elected members from 89‘open’ electorates or constituencies and 22 ‘provincial’ electorates (http://www.pngec.gov.pg/).
Also, according to Articles 101 and 102 of the constitution, the parliament can with 2/3 majority appoint up to 3 nominated MPs.
