13. Is there a ban on donations from any other source?

Article 44AA, Clause 4 (page 18): "If the contesting candidate receives any sum from any source other than any of the sources mentioned in his statement submitted under clause (1), he shall (...) submit a supplementary statement to the Returning Officer showing the sum so received and the source from which it is received" Article 44CC, Clause 1 (page 19): "Every political party setting up any candidate for election shall maintain proper account of all its income and expenditure (...) and such account shall show clearly the amount received by it as donation above 14[taka five thousand] from any candidate or any person seeking nomination or from any other person or source" (Source: Representation of the People Order, 1972 (as amended up to October 2008))
As long as the donation does not exceed a certain amount. Applies to election expenses.
