10. Is there a ban on donations from corporations with government contracts to candidates?

Section 293A, Sub-section 1: 'Notwithstanding anything contained in any other provision of this Act, -(a) no Government company; and(b) no other company which has been in existence for less than three financial years, shall contribute any amount or amounts, directly or indirectly, -(i) to any political party; or(ii) for any political purpose to any person.'Section 617: 'For the purposes of this Act , Government company means any company in which not less than fifty-one per cent of the paid-up share capital is held by the Central Government, or by any State Government or Governments, or partly by the Central Government and partly by one or more State Governments and includes a company which is a subsidiary of a Government company as thus defined.'
