Judges and prosecutors, members of high judicial bodies, lecturers in higher education institutions, members of the Higher Education Council and the Supreme Council of Radio and Television, civil servants of the public institutions and agencies, public officials other than workers, mayors, military staff and sergeants, the chairmen and the members of the political parties' provincial and district organizations, members of municipal councils, members of provincial general assemblies, those who are members of the executive and supervisory boards of the public professional organizations and of trade unions, public banks and upper associations and their parent organizations and undertakings or partnerships shall resign from their duties following the renewal decision of the elections (parliamentary and local).

Except for the members of higher courts, judges, prosecutors, military staff and sergeants, civil servants and other public officials shall return to their former positions or another duty with vested rights if they apply within one month following the issuance of the election results by the Supreme Board of Election.
