Electoral legislation doesn´t contemplate any restriction regarding conflict of interest, but the Constitution states prohibitions in relation with whom may be elected for the presidency and the congress.

For instance, the Constitution determines the officials that can´t be elected president:

-Ministers that form part of the cabinet and their deputies, Supreme Electoral Tribunal Magistrates, Magistrates of the Supreme Court of Justice, Heads of Centralized en Decentralized Public Institutions, Members of the Supreme Court of Accountings, General Attorney and his deputy, Human Rights National Commissioner, Head and members of the Armed Forces, family of the president in the fourth degree of consanguinity and afinity. The only way in which this public officials could be elected president is by resigning their office six months before the date schedule fot the election.  The same prohibitions apply for the same officials listed before, if they have the intention of running for a congress seat.
