67. Are there provisions for conflict of interests for candidates and/or elected officials?
Romania
Art. 1 (1) - "The provisions of the present Law are applied to the following categories of persons, that have the obligation to declare their assets and interest: ... 39) The candidates applying for the position of the President of Romania, Deputy, Senator, Local Counselor, Chairman Of The County Council and Mayors;"
Art. 3 (4) - "Persons applying for positions of President of Romania, Deputy, Senator, Romanian Member in the European Parliament, County Councilor, Alderman, Chairman of The County Council or Mayor are required to declare their assets and interests."
Art. 4 - "(1) Assets and interests disclosures shall be submitted within 30 days from date of appointment or election in the respective position or from the date of commencement of work. (2) Persons covered by the present law have the obligation to submit or update their Assets and interests disclosures annually, no later than June 15. ..."
