  The Leadership Code (Further Provisions) Act 1996 requires leaders to separately disclose the personal and business incomes and financial affairs of himself, his spouse and each of his children under the age of eighteen. The statement must include interests in contracts with governmental bodies and of directorships and similar offices held by them (including powers to nominate directors, trustees or agents, or similar officers. An elected official must provide this statement within three months of the date of his election and thereafter at intervals not exceeding two years.

Comment

  The SI Leadership Code definition of leader includes any person who or whose office or position is included in section 93 of the Constitution. The Leadership Code   therefore applies to all elected officials at national, provincial, and local level of government and requires them to provide regular financial reports.
