26. Is there a ban on donors to political parties/candidates participating in public tender/procurement processes?
Vanuatu
The January 2014 amendments to Article 13 (3) of the Constitution of the Republic of Vanuatu introduced specifications for the “investor-citizen” category that prevent them from being involved in Vanuatu politics, funding activities that would support political stability in Vanuatu and affiliating or forming political parties. Indigenous and naturalized citizens are exempt from these restrictions. However, there is no assigned regulatory authority to monitor this activity.
