Section 47:
“(1) At the time ofpresenting an election petition or within three days afterwards the petitionershall give security for all costswhich may become payable by him to any witness summoned on his behalf or to anyrespondent.
(2) The securityspecified in subsection (1) shall be an amount of one thousand dollars or such higher amount as the election court maydirect and shall be given in the prescribed manner by the recognisance enteredinto by any number of sureties not exceeding four or by a deposit of money orpartly in one way and partly in the other.”
