231 Time forpresentation of election petition

(1) Subject to theprovisions of this section, an election petition shall be presented within 28days after the day on which the Electoral Commission has publicly notified theresult of the poll.

(2) If thepetition questions the election or return upon an allegation of a corruptpractice and specifically alleges a payment of

money or otherreward to have been made by the member or

on his or heraccount or with his or her knowledge and consent

since the day ofthe said declaration in pursuance or furtherance

of the allegedcorrupt practice, it may be presented within

28 days after thedate of the payment.
