Presidential  Elections Act, No.15 of 1981

 

(7).Every reference undersubsection (6) on any objection taken to the nomination of the candidateconcerned

(e). shall be heard and decided by five Judges ofthe Supreme Court after such summary inquiry as the Supreme Court may deemrequisite within a period of seven days after the date of the receipt of suchreference.

- If there is no decision by the Supreme Court onthe reference within the period referred to in paragraph (e) of this subsection, thereference shall, for the purposes of this Act, be deemed to have abated, butmay be taken by way of an election petition.

 

15. (2). Where any nominationpaper has been rejected by the Commissioner under subsection (1), he shallinform the candidate or the person who had delivered such nomination paper thefact of such rejection. The decision of the Commissioner to reject suchnomination paper on any of the grounds set out I paragraphs (a) to (d) of subsection (1) shall be final.
