Presidential  Elections Act, No.15 of 1981

 

(7). Every reference under subsection (6) on any objection taken to thenomination of the candidate concerned -

(e). shall be heard and decided by five Judges of the Supreme Court aftersuch summary inquiry as the Supreme Court may deem requisite within a period ofseven days after the date of the receipt of such reference.

If there is no decision by the Supreme Court on the reference within theperiod referred to in paragraph (e) of this subsection, the reference shall,for the purposes of this Act, be

deemed to have abated, but may be taken by way of an election petition.

 

15. (2). Where any nominationpaper has been rejected by the Commissioner under subsection (1), he shallinform the candidate or the person who had delivered such nomination paper thefact of such rejection. The decision of the Commissioner to reject suchnomination paper on any of the grounds set out I paragraphs (a) to (d) of subsection (1) shall be final.
