Art. 69 (Infracciones graves):
“Constituyen infracciones graves:
a) La alteraci?n de la informaci?n provista por la Corte NacionalElectoral, o su utilizaci?n con prop?sitos no electorales,
b) El incumplimiento de la obligaci?n de presentar estados financieros antela Corte Nacional Electoral del partido pol?tico o alianza.”
Art. 70 (Sanciones por infracciones graves):
“Las sanciones a las infracciones graves establecidas en el art?culoanterior ser?n:
a) Suspensi?n del financiamiento estatal, as? como del derecho a participaren las pr?ximas elecciones nacionales o municipales, en los casos de losincisos a) y b).”
Comment
Public funding forpolitical parties was abolished in 2008. Therefore, the provision of article 70of the 1999 Law on Political Parties shall be interpreted as follows: “Thepenalty for serious infringements included in article 69 (a) and (b) shall besuspension of the right to participate in the next national or municipalelections”. In light of the forthcoming 2014 elections, a new law regulatingpolitical finance is currently being drafted, but has not been passed yet.
