“There is no reporting on campaign financing during or after electiondays. The campaign expenditure is included in the general annual financialreport of the party as a separate line without any detailed breakdown ofincomes and expenditures of the campaign. According to the Czech chapter ofTransparency International, reports presented by political parties do notprovide sufficient details on how they are financed because of inadequatedisclosure requirements. In addition, there is no sufficient and independentcontrol of party and campaign financing.”

However, legal regulation of broader context of the elections is inadequate, namely thereare no provisions concerning effective regulation of pre-election campaign andcampaign financing.

Comment
Electoral law does not provide regulations for campaign finance infractions. Several EOM reports also confirm that there is no sufficient control of campaign financing in Czech Republic.
