Electoral Act 1968, 87 (6) and 88 (2)

Returnof election expenses

87 (6) – It shall be the duty of the Returning officer to reportto the Attorney-General any contraventions of this section and further demandfrom the candidate the return or information which it was his duty under thissection to furnish.

 

88 (2)-Where is appears to the High Court that any person hasrefused or failed to supply such as will enable the candidate or electionsagent to comply with provisions of section 87, the High Court before making acondoning order shall order such person to attend before the Court and on hisattention shall unless he shows cause to contrary order him to supply thenecessary particulars within such time as Court may direct.”

 

(3) “Any person who fails to comply with an ordermade under provisions of subsection (2) shall be guilty of an offense andliable to a fine not exceeding P400 or to imprisonment to a term not exceedingtwo years, or to both.”
