68. Are elected officials required to submit reports regarding their finances?
Malawi
The amended section 88 (3) of the Constitution requires the President and members of the Cabinet, within three months from the date of election or appointment, as the case may be, to fully disclose all their assets, liabilities and business interests, and those of their spouses, and further that the disclosure be made in a written document to be delivered to the Speaker of the National Assembly, who shall upon receipt deposit the document with such public office as may be specified in the Standing Orders of Parliament.
