“On 31 March 2016, the Supreme Court, within the one-month constitutional deadline, issued the ruling. The court unanimously dismissed the petition and declared the first respondent, President Yoweri Museveni, validly elected. The court, while admitting that there was non-compliance with the electoral laws during the conduct of the presidential election, also stated that there was no evidence that the non-compliance affected the results in a substantial manner.”
Elections were held on 18 February and certified results for Presidential Elections were announced by the Supreme Court on 31 March. There is no data for Parliamentary Elections.
