See also below the official response from the Elections Department of Singapore (ELD):
"There are a total of 93 elected Members of Parliament (MPs). As 10 Opposition MPs were elected to the Parliament in the General Election 2020, two candidates who received the highest votes amongst the unelected candidates from the Opposition parties were declared elected as Non-Constituency Members of Parliament (NCMPs). Unlike MPs and NCMPs who gain their seats through elections, Nominated Members of Parliament (NMPs) are appointed by the President for a term of two and a half years on the recommendation of a Special Select Committee of Parliament. The 9 current NMPs started their two-and-a-half-year term in September 2018."
