Art. 14. (1) The President of the Republic, within a period of up to one month from the promulgation of the decision of the National Assembly to hold a referendum, determines the date of the referendum, which cannot be earlier than two and later than three months from the date of promulgation of the decision of the National Assembly.

(2) (New - SG No. 56 of 2015, in force from 24.07.2015) The terms under para. 1 do not apply when elections are held within one year from the date of promulgation of the decision of the National Assembly, with the exception of partial and new elections for municipal councilors and mayors. In this case, the national referendum and the election are produced on the same date.

(3) (Previous para. 2, amended - SG No. 56 of 2015, in force from 24.07.2015) The President sets the date of the referendum on a non-working day.
