Mexico is the second largest greenhouse gas emitter in Latin America, after Brazil (Emissions Database for Global Atmospheric Research). The main environmental concerns in the country are related to pollution, water security and deforestation. In this regard, Mexico has recently adopted ambitious targets for reducing both emissions and deforestation by 2030.
