Artikel 9. Voor de afvaardiging per district naar De Nationale Assemblee geldt de volgende verdeling:
1. Paramaribo 17 zetels
2. district Wanica 7 zetels
3. district Nickerie 5 zetels
4. district Commewijne 4 zetels
5. district Sipaliwini 4 zetels
6. district Brokopondo 3 zetels
7. district Marowijne 3 zetels
8. district Para 3 zetels
9. district Saramacca 3 zetels
10. district Coronie 2 zetels
Artikel 9 komt te luiden:
1. De Nationale Assemblée bestaat uit 51 leden die worden gekozen op grond van algemene, vrije en geheime verkiezingen krachtens het stelsel van evenredige vertegenwoordiging bij grootste gemiddelde en voorkeurstemmen.
2. Personen, die zich kandidaat hebben gesteld ter verkiezing tot lid van De Nationale Assemblée zijn aaneengesloten twee jaren voorafgaand aan de dag der stemming ingezetene van Suriname en bezitten de Surinaamse nationaliteit.
